Slow Down….just a little differently…

I FIRST HEARD “SLOW DOWN” WHEN IT WAS RELEASED, BY THE BEATLES, IN 1964 AS A SINGLE IN THE U.S. I played it in a cover band , Woodies Termites, at the same time. I was sitting in my cottage one evening many years later, just fooling around with the song, and it came out like this, a laid-back country blues version. I found out at that same time that it was actually written and performed by Larry Williams in 1957 and the Beatles had heard it from his recording.

Ansley Jardine on drums , Charlie Phillips on bass, Carter Chaplin on electric guitar, John Appleby on mandolin, John Noseworthy and Mike Trask on back up vocals, Mark Cuming on clairinet and cornet.
